A Brief Overview On Multivariate Testing and A/B Testing

Websites are primarily designed for promoting a brand, product, idea or information about something. These websites can be accessed through a web server or a local area network. Marketing is the prime function of a website and it is intended to produce clientele for the company and its offerings. Since the specific function of websites is to generate a clientele for the company, hence its performance over the internet is a very important factor.

The performance of a website can be measured by comparing it with the success metric. There are two basic methods of measuring a website's performance against the success metric that are Multivariate Testing and A/B Testing. Following sub-heads will give you a brief review on both these testing processes:

Multivariate Testing

Multivariate Testing basically checks for multiple variations of elements present over a page. This testing process involves testing various combinations of websites elements to find out that which one will be more successful. The elements of the website include headlines, text, images and sign-up forms. When few options of these elements of a website are taken into consideration in this test, Multivariate Test finds out which option has higher success rate in comparison to other options. This test examines different combinations of website elements to find out which will be better for improving the performance of website.

A/B Testing

This type of testing is also known as split testing and it considers two designs for testing that which has higher success rate. In this test the two website designs are named as A and B, in which A is generally the old or existing website of the company while B is the newly designed. Both the designs are compared on parameter like content, layout and images, to find out which is comparatively better and would yield better performance.

Advanced technologies and testing methods have improved the A/B Testing and Multivariate Testing in India. Now many Indian companies are also opting for these website tests to improve the performance of their website over the internet. These tests help in improving the performance of websites over the internet by analyzing its structure and components. Request a Free Quote
