The Evolution Of World Wide Web

The developers of World Wide Web would have known the potential of this platform but were they expecting the growth at such pace is really hard to say. Over the last few years, the World Wide Web has grown manifolds penetrating into and establishing a stronghold in virtually every sphere of life. E-commerce, for instance holds a parallel status to conventional ways of trade. In fact, projections are such that in the coming few decades e-commerce will foster even at a greater pace.

The success of Web can be attributed to its constant evolution to meet the expectations of the users. To be specific, lets shift our focus on Search Engines. There was a time when searches on the internet didnt yield the accurate results in reasonable number of attempts. But now the scenario has undergone a paradigm shift. Search Engines have become more powerful, packed with advanced search options, more logical algorithms, and consequently allow searchers to find answers within few clicks and few seconds. This is a defining evolution.

Technological advancement has been a key contributor in the evolution of Web. The initial web sites, quite obviously, were not as attractive and graphically appealing as the ones of this time. The websites designed in this age are far better when rated on aspects of graphic appeal, accessibility, navigation features, maintainability, loading time, etc.

The discussion on the evolution of Web cannot be complete without mentioning SEO. Search Engine Optimization (SEO), is the factor behind a website popping up at the top after search words are entered. It is a combination of various techniques and processes involving strategic placement of keywords in the website content so as to ensure greater online exposure.

With evolution Web also learnt how to measure the performance of the websites something that it was lacking in the initial phases. Today, there is a wide array of Web analytics Tools available for gathering information about the visitors on the website, what they like or dislike, from where have they reached the site, bounce rate, etc. All this data can now be systematically analyzed to design and develop better websites.

The changes that have made World Wide Web a better place have no ending. Future stores a lot more surprises, or rather we should say pleasant and advanced surprises. Endless opportunities will be presented in every walk of life if this pace of Web evolution sustains.
